We will live to see the end of unnecessary blue envelopes. Not that we will stop paying taxes, but authorizing intermediaries through a wallet with a qualified electronic signature will be a breeze: completely digital. This also means no more paper authorization codes landing on your doorstep, if you don’t want them.
This proof-of-concept shows that the technology is ready! All thanks to TIP.

“New milestone in secure online business: successful trial with the use of trust services
Secure online business is one step closer after the successful Proof-of-Concept in which a financial service provider, using TIP trust services, retrieved customer data from the Pre-Filled Tax Return (VIA) at the Dutch Tax Administration.
TIP partners Dutch Tax Administration, Visma Connect, Cleverbase/Vidua and PKIsigning tested the functioning of seals and their verification in the customer-to-customer process for retrieving VIA data during the Proof-of-Concept. The tested use case focused on a tax service provider requesting Pre-Filled Tax Return data (VIA) for their customer via a software package, up to the receipt of the VIA data sealed by the Dutch Tax Administration. Two scenarios were tested: access management using an authorization register, and access through an authorization statement issued by the person whose VIA data is being requested, a so-called peer-to-peer authorization. During the TIP networking event on October 10th, a short video about the PoC was launched, in which Victor den Bak, Remco van Wijk, Anneke Veldman-Kalma and Tom van Bolhuis explain the trial and its results.”
