Starting in June 2025, Cleverbase will begin issuing qualified electronic certificates under the new PKIoverheid G4 root certificate: Staat der Nederlanden - G4 Root EUTL G-Sigs - 2024. This change is part of a broader transition within the public infrastructure towards a more secure and future-proof certification framework.
Currently, Cleverbase uses certificates issued under the G3 root certificate (Staat der Nederlanden Burger CA - G3) for the signing process. With the introduction of G4, users may now hold either a G3 or a G4 certificate.
The technical profiles of these certificates differ slightly, which may impact integrations with our services. The underlying Signing API (CSC version 1) remains unchanged, but the contents of the certificate you receive during the signing process will differ. Our partners have already received a technical overview of the change to assess its potential impact.
We are carefully guiding our partners through this transition and providing support where needed. The new configuration is documented in our updated Certificate Practice Statement.
