A new milestone!
In 2018, Sander Dijkhuis, Hidde Dorhout, Nitesh Bharosa and Remco van Wijk published a scientific paper on the future of a secure online society. The work — ‘When Willeke Can Get Rid of Paperwork’ — predicted that individuals like Willeke would soon have a reliable digital identity and tools for qualified electronic signatures. With the upcoming implementation of eIDAS 2.0, that future is now within reach!
We are incredibly proud to be working with the partners of Trusted Information Partners to build the ecosystem that is now becoming a reality. We are contributing to large-scale pilot projects to ensure that Europe’s ambitions align with existing solutions. Together with partners like NVM, Vidua Vastgoed, Zorgeloos Vastgoed, HDN (Mortgage Data Network) and ING, we have already broadly begun the implementation, which is now being further accelerated by law.
And it’s great to see that Sander, Hidde, Nitesh and Remco are still contributing to this development — Nitesh as a professor at Delft University of Technology and the others from Vidua. It feels good to be part of this movement!
